Create memories with your family while learning about Norway with this *FREE* study guide
June 23, 2020
If you’ve been homeschooling your children for the past few months, then you already know the ways that the pandemic has totally changed the rhythms and routines of family life. You’ve experienced the struggle. I hope you’ve also embraced some of the delight.
As we slide into summer break, I’ll be honest that I’m excited to have a break from daily school. But I sure don’t want to stop learning alongside my kids! I suspect that many of you feel the same.
This will help you explore Norway and its heritage and history with your children through read-aloud, videos, recipes, and bunny trails of research. Instead of giving you a daily plan with activities and assignments, I’ve created this loosely, so that you can follow paths that spark delight and adjust the content to various age levels. (I’ve included resources for everyone from young children to adults.)
This Discovery Guide is packed with fascinating information about Norway, its history, and its heritage. While I initially planned it to be a resource for families suddenly homeschooling in the pandemic, I think there’s something in there for everyone.
It might be for you if:
You’re a parent looking for ways to keep your kids engaged and learning this summer without the demands of academic work
You long to share your love of Norway with your grandchildren and instill a love your shared heritage in them
You were hoping to travel to Norway soon but have to wait because of the pandemic (there’s a tour through Norway with lots of links to articles and videos!)
You’re interested in Norwegian literature and stories or Norse mythology
I hope it inspires you to explore Norway and its heritage and history with your children, and to create rich memories together this summer and beyond.
